about
The second song from our library of macabre fantastic visions. Spending nearly a year and some change between releases and line up changes we are back on the spectral horse. Empty throne is our efforts through too many trials and tribulations to count and we appreciate all who are still listening and following. This song would not be possible without our extended Daggermind family; Dan Sciolino of Forever in Transit and Christian Reardon of Little world Eater and Amuro Ray.
The song on its surface speaks of a world of fear and terror with no true person to take the reins and lead the pack. While a singular leader is typically what we see in the world as an means to develop and grow, Empty Throne instead gives credence to the idea that the collective can work together for a greater goal, much how this song came together.
lyrics
An Empty Throne
For a bastard king
Inscribed with the words
The common folk would sing;
“My mind moves with the shadows
My brothers bleed with the trees
My face reflects all the mirrors
That aren’t reflecting me”
A wind caught between branches
The words binding our fate
Down wrapped dark ritual
Malformed wolves sedate
Stone towers left from our lost
Unfettering in a dream unknown
River flowing of sweat in wake
Invoking the dead throne
A seat left for a specter
Under a sky that bleeds
Silver moon is beckoning
A pack of hounds to feed
Fall down from mountain
A reckoning as a horn sound lull
Dead knowing they need no knives
Fear alone skewers the skull
